Precautions for the use of drill bits How to ensure safe use
Precautions for using drill bits:
1. When working in different rock formations, choose different types of drill bits, shaft pressures and speeds according to the hardness of the rock; when working in soft rock formations, replace the drill bit midway and strictly check whether the old drill bit palm back alloy and cone teeth have fallen off to the bottom of the hole. If there are remnants of the old drill bit in the hole, it is strictly forbidden to use the new drill bit in the original hole; when there are cracks in the rock formation or cracks in the rock formation caused by blasting or goaf operations, the shaft pressure and speed should be reduced to prevent the drill bit from being damaged.
2. When drilling with a drilling rig, the principle of matching the three elements of drilling (wind pressure, shaft pressure, and speed) with the recommended parameters of the drill bit sample must be followed.
3. Before going down the well, please check the appearance of each component of the drill bit, check whether the end face of the drill bit thread is consistent with the factory number on the drill bit packaging box and the certificate of conformity; whether there is a trademark mark on the surface of the drill bit tooth palm to prevent counterfeiting.
4. The drill bit should be stored reasonably on the drilling rig to prevent dust and other debris from entering the drill bit.
5. When drilling with a new drill bit, drill with a small shaft pressure and low speed for 20-30 minutes, and then gradually increase to normal shaft pressure.
6. When drilling a new hole with a new drill bit, pay attention to clear the debris around the hole (rocks, scrap metal, etc.), ventilate and reduce speed when rotating, keep close to the ground to prevent sudden drilling and impact damage to the drill bit.
7. When the drill tool is in the hole, it is strictly forbidden to reverse to prevent the drill bit from falling into the well.
8. When the drill bit is in the hole and the air compressor suddenly stops working, rock debris can easily enter the drill bit. Therefore, it is strictly forbidden to rotate for a long time, which will cause bearing wear, repeated slag breakage (or jamming), and accelerated drill bit wear.
9. During normal perforation operations, there must be no serious air leakage in the main air circuit of the air compressor to ensure sufficient air volume and air pressure and extend the service life of the drill bit.
10. It is strictly forbidden to use bent drill rods to avoid uneven force on the three palms of the drill bit and accelerate damage to the drill bit.
11. Drill bits should be stored in a moisture-proof and ventilated place. It is strictly forbidden to knock the cone or thread during transportation.
